BORN AND RAISED IN ELK RIVER, MINNESOTA; I ENLISTED IN THE SERVICE RIGHT AFTER GRADUATING FROM ELK RIVER HIGH SCHOOL. I SERVED IN THE NAVY FOR 4 YEARS. DURING THAT TIME, I FOUND MYSELF WORKING WITH OTHER SAILORS, HELPING THEM PREPARE FOR THE RIGOROUS DEMANDS OF THE NAVY'S PHYSICAL READINESS TEST. IN THE NAVY, I DISCOVERED MY TRUE PASSION, AND PURPOSE.
While in the Navy, I was introduced to Crossfit by a good friend. I was instantly hooked. I immediately sought out my Crossfit Level 1 Certificate and began coaching at the local gym. As I began to coach, and help people throughout their own fitness journey, I realized that this training philosophy has a profound impact on peoples lives. Not just on their life, but the lives of those around them as well; which is ultimately what makes it so powerful.
Unfortunately, as I often tell people, while Crossfit is for anybody...it is not for EVERYBODY. Many gyms offer a foundational class to get them started, but those programs are not able to accommodate for EVERYBODY at their current ability. That is why I have chosen to begin Personal Training, and started the Transformation Bootcamp.
Learning the "do's and don't" of exercise takes time. Lots of time. My goal is to teach Functional Fitness to as many people as possible. If a fitness routine doesn't carry over to everyday life, what is it accomplishing?
